It will be mine

It was July 2010 when I had the very lucky
chance to drive one.

Tesla Motors Roadster electric

The Tesla Motors Roaster is no electric sissy car affair.  It’s a damn serious one.

Tesla Motors Roadster Interior

Tesla Motors, based in California (http://www.teslamotors.com) came for a visit last year on Nikola Tesla‘s birthday to have some people test drive their all electric sports car.  Someone didn’t make their appointment and I happened to be there.  All I have to say is this:

0-96 kph in 3.7 seconds

394 km per battery charge

6 hours to recharge

When you put the pedal to the metal, trust me…you know it.  If you’re looking to grab one, it will have to before 2012 because this is the final production year of roadster, then they’re moving on to focus on their next masterpiece – the Model S.

Tesla Motors Model S

Hot damn.

…and at less than half the price of the roadster ($50,000) the payments would be a little easier on the pocket book.  This baby gets

0-96 kph in 5.6 seconds

480 km per battery charge

(I’ve been told) it’s 3 hours to recharge

Not as fast as the roadster but even more economical… not to mention it will charge in half the time the roadster takes.

In any case, I’m getting one.  Maybe both.  Going to sell a few deodorants first.

In the words of Mike Meyers in Wayne’s World:
“It will be mine… oh yes, it will be mine.”
